Some updates for all the spiders crawling this blog...

Hey everyone,

Its been a while since I post in my blog, and it seems people are getting tired of reading about how much I despise Windows Vista, so I only have one thing to say about Microsoft in this post. Microsoft is planning on stopping the sale of Windows XP by the end of the year meaning that by 2008 you will no longer be able to buy Windows XP. Instead if you want to run windows you will be forced to buy Vista. This is Microsofts final attempt at trying to force Vista upon the public and its still ridiculously buggy and frustrating to users of all levels. There I said it. Now I shall continue.

Today / Tonight / or possibly Tomorrow, I will be writing an article explaining detailed steps on how to  safely surf the internet. Aside from safety I will outline methods for blocking advertisement servers, malicious Javascript & Flash. I will be taking screenshots, and walking users through exact procedures on how to install the add-ons and utilize them properly.

Recently, I purchased myself a new gagdet that I simply could not pass up. A Nokia N800 Internet Tablet. (Full review available from engadget.com) The Nokia N800 is the updated internet tablet which has way too many features and cool things to list... so check out the review if you wish to find out more. My favorite thing about the N800 is that it is running Linux as its operating system. This might just sound like I'm on another Linux rant, but the importance of the operating system on a device like this is crucial. There is already a huge development community for the N800 tablet. (www.internettablettalk.com -- Community forum about the N770 and N800, www.maemo.org -- The Linux Operating system that is running on the N770 and N800 [Latest version has been dubbed OS 2007 by Nokia, but it is really Maemo version 3 (Bora)]). The development community has been porting tons of applications for this device, and already there are some great package repositories and software to download and install for FREE. (You know I can't talk about linux with out over-using the word "FREE") Anyhow, I purchased the device for 40% off as a result of the closing of a local CompUSA. It has bluetooth which is nice because I plan on buying the BlueTooth GPS module which will help me find my way around town when I move to San Francisco. The WiFi also supports encryption such as WEP 64, 128, WPA, etc.

Other than that, I'm still looking for work out west, so if you know anyone in San Francisco who can use someone like me, please put us in contact.

Hope you have a wonderful day, and keep checking back on the site for the article I'll be writing soon.

Thanks,

Chris
