Say it ain't so Google?!

I just finished reading this article entitled Google turns the page. Its from the OpenDNS Blog which explains that Dell and Google have teamed up to basically install a form of Adware (if not spyware) onto customer PC's. Now, I have seen months ago that Dell was preinstalling tons of Google applications on systems, and the EULA agreement would pop up the first time you boot into Windows which would give you the option of enabling or disabling "PageRank" from the toolbar... but this is far worse.

It is a piece of software that the user never even had the option of disabling, and comes preinstalled on all machines. It loads up advertisements instead of trying to be helpful and point the user in the right direction.

...and to think that I was just growing fond of Dell for preinstalling Ubuntu Linux on their new PC models. ... and Google.. what happened to your "evil" clause in your privacy statement? This sounds like pure evil to me.

Anyhow, give the article a read if you like, and let me know what you think.

I for one am upset. Google, watch out. If you become what you originally hated, then someone might come along and pull that rug out from under you.

I think with that

I think with that development google would have control of your system already. I mean they have already accessed your system if they are going to install certain software in your Dell computer and it is bit irritating to note that google is here to monopolyzed everything in the net and they are slowly starting it.

Rug Yanking

The rug has already been pulled. Google has lost over 1/2 of all traffic to Social websites. Ebay handles more traffic than Google. So don't be surprised if Google is working out ways to deliver goods to people. Ebay is winning the war and delivering "stuff" is the #1 purpose of the Internet. Google just wants to do it most efficiently.
